Charlie's Blackberry & Apple Crumble
Growing up back in the UK, autumn meant one thing: piling into the car, heading to the pick-your-own farm, and filling bags with apples, blackberries, and every other berry you can think of, until our fingers were stained and our stomachs hurt.
My mum would freeze everything we picked, and throughout the colder months she’d pull out fruit for pies, crumbles, and tarts. This gluten-free crumble is a nod to those childhood memories. Made with sliced apples, whole blackberries, brown sugar, lemon juice, and a touch of cinnamon. It’s baked under a buttery oat topping until golden and crisp, and served with a little heavy cream on the side.
Delivered chilled. Delicious hot or cold.
You can reheat it gently in the oven or the microwave in a pinch.
